Ricoh updating destination list failed

Using Windows 8 x64, but the problem also persists on Windows 7 x86 and x64. To me, this means that it is successfully authenticating.

I phoned client support at Nashua (distributors of the machine), who said Windows 8 is not supported.

I am using a password to log in - have also tried without password protection on both the machine, and the client PC.

Microsoft is conducting an online survey to understand your opinion of the Technet Web site.

However, as mentioned, it doesn't work on Windows 7 either.

Per the comment below, all other workstations on the network are able to access the folder.

We have a Ricoh Aficio SP 5210SF multifunction printer which is set up to send scanned documents to various network shares.

Previously the printer was set up to send the scans to a user's folder on a Windows Server 2003 R2 installation.

This post was sent to me by a Ricoh dealer who was having problems configuring scan to folder to a Windows 2008 server. Ricoh devices use a version of Samba that does not currently support SMB v2 (as at Jan 2010). I found this question four days after I set up a Ricoh SP 3200SF printer/copier/fax with SBS2008.Or you could disable SMB signing via the registry set both below values to 0 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Current Control Set\Services\Lanmanserver\Parameters\Enablesecuritysignature HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Current Control Set\Services\Lanmanserver\Parameters\Requiresecuritysignature I wanted to give you a 1, but you're advising the user to change the registry first, and mentioning Group Policy as an afterthought. The user really should be changing it via the Group Policy tool and not mucking around in the registry. We've recently replaced that server with a new one running Windows Server 2012 R2, but we've come to find out that the Ricoh's firmware doesn't support connecting to smb shares on Windows Server 2012/R2.The interim solution is to send the scanned documents to the user's workstation, but the problem there is that the documents are no longer on the server, and thus cannot be backed up with the installed remote backup software.
