Updating microsoft computer crashed
They have reissued a fresh security update to replace KB298791 that fixed the bug that caused the crashes. In their security bulletin, Microsoft said, “Microsoft strongly recommends that customers who have not uninstalled the 2982791 update do so prior to applying the 2993651 update.” The company has not released new versions of the other updates.Unfortunately, the Vista machine remains crashed and unusable. The restore must have removed it, but it did not get the machine working again. I am not sure where exactly to find the folders you mention. A bit sluggish at the start until a message appears saying that Ulead Video Studio has stopped working.
Update: I was contacted by Gabe Aul, our Ring Master, directly and he has informed me that a fix is in the works for this and will be pushed out soon.Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed. The update was running smoothly, when suddenly at about 24%, I got a message that there was an error and the computer had to reboot. It rebooted automatically but my computer won't go past the blue HP startup screen. I tried several times but it just stays on the blue HP screen.
